My Story

This October, the ANS team and friends are taking on the Great South Run to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital!

Our running team is made up of Phil Brooks, Malou Glastonbury-Brooks, Ben Walker, Sean Brooks, Robert Allen, Mitchell Hastings, Sean Smith, Davor Vujkovic, Woody Glastonbury, Jordan Murphy, Patrick McMahon, Byron Haggerty, Nicola McMorrin, Thomas McMorrin & Sarah Taylor.

As many colleagues and friends will know, Great Ormond Street Hospital has a special place in the heart of Phil and Malou and other family members that work at ANS .  Their son Kieran was diagnosed with Leukaemia at an early age of just two years old in 2016 and following a relapse in 2020 from the standard chemotherapy treatment, required urgent life-saving CAR-T cell therapy treatment by Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Kieran is now in remission again and stopped his chemotherapy maintenance medication at the end of 2022.  He is now nine and doing well.  He can now have sleepovers at his friends and go on school trips !

CAR-T cell therapy is a new cutting edge alternative to standard chemotherapy and bone marrow donor options - unfortunately the latter was not an option for Kieran as a donor could not be found.  Please help us make a difference in the lives of other children and their families who find themselves in the same situation as Kieran.  CAR-T cell type therapies are still evolving and by supporting our team in the Great South Run 2023 we want to contribute to the ongoing research and development.

Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is a world-renowned institution that provides exceptional care and treatment to children with complex medical conditions. By donating to our cause, you are directly contributing to the lifesaving work carried out at GOSH, ensuring that every child receives the best possible care. Join us in supporting GOSH by making a generous contribution today!
